You can have the best content on the web and rank for nothing if Google can't index your pages.

Indexability is the unglamorous foundation of SEO. Most people set it up at launch and assume it stays fine. It doesn't. Pages get accidentally excluded, noindex tags get applied to the wrong things, Webflow settings change, and slowly your indexable page count drifts away from what it should be.

The monthly indexability check takes 10 minutes in Google Search Console.

Go to Indexing → Pages. Look at the "Not indexed" count and click through to see the breakdown. The most common statuses on a Webflow site:

"Crawled — currently not indexed" means Google has seen the page but decided not to include it. Usually a content quality signal. The page is too thin, too similar to another page, or doesn't provide enough standalone value. The fix is to improve the content.

"Discovered — currently not indexed" means Google knows the page exists via your sitemap but hasn't crawled it yet. If this persists for weeks, Google is deprioritizing your site. More content depth across your indexed pages helps.

"Excluded by 'noindex' tag" means something is explicitly telling Google not to index the page. Check whether this is intentional — it often isn't.

"Page with redirect" means a URL in your sitemap is redirecting to another URL. Update your sitemap to point to the final destination.

In Webflow, the most common indexability mistakes are: a page set to "Exclude from search results" in Page Settings; the collection template page accidentally excluded; and a noindex tag left in custom head code from a test that was never removed.

Also check your sitemap. In Webflow, it auto-generates, but draft and archived CMS items won't appear. Make sure your most important pages are present and pointing to the right URLs.
