Use tools like SEMrush to monitor technical health

Before going live is when you want a baseline. SEMrush's Site Audit tool crawls your Webflow site and generates a health score based on crawlability, indexability, on-page SEO, and performance. Running it before launch tells you what you're starting with — and gives you a fix list before Google crawls the live site.

The crawl takes a few minutes for a typical Webflow site. It checks for missing meta titles and descriptions, duplicate content, broken links, pages blocked from crawling, slow-loading pages, missing structured data, and dozens of other signals. The output is sorted by severity: Errors, Warnings, and Notices.

Errors directly hurt rankings or block indexing — fix these before launching. Warnings reduce SEO effectiveness but won't tank your site — prioritize by impact after launch. Notices are best-practice suggestions; review them, but don't let them block a launch.

The monthly monitoring loop: after launch, set up a recurring crawl in SEMrush Site Audit. It can run automatically on a weekly schedule, and each run produces a health score plus a diff showing what changed. New errors that appear are usually caused by recent content changes: a CMS item published without a meta description, an internal link broken by a slug change, or a page accidentally set to noindex in the designer.

The value over manual checking is coverage. A Webflow site with 100 pages would take hours to audit manually. SEMrush crawls all of them in minutes and flags issues you'd never catch by spot-checking. Use it alongside Google Search Console — GSC tells you how Google actually sees your site, while SEMrush tells you what potential issues exist across all pages before Google gets to them.

One check worth running before launch specifically: the internal linking report. SEMrush surfaces pages with very few internal links pointing to them. These orphan pages exist, but nothing links to them, making them hard for users and Google to discover. Add appropriate internal links from related pages before going live.

For the monthly check, combine SEMrush Site Audit with GSC's Coverage and Core Web Vitals reports. Together they cover the main technical health signals: crawlability, indexability, on-page completeness, and page experience. One without the other leaves gaps that only show up after rankings move.
