How to Add a detailed Author Bio to Showcase your expertise on Webflow for SEO (EEAT)

An author bio does two things: it tells readers who wrote the content and why they should trust it, and it signals to Google that real people with real credentials are responsible for what's on your site. Both matter for E-E-A-T.

The problem with most author bios is they're either completely missing or they say something like "John is a passionate marketer who loves helping businesses grow." That's not a bio. That's a placeholder. A bio that actually builds trust includes specific credentials: how many years of experience, what you've done, what results you've achieved, and why this specific topic is something you're qualified to write about.

For a Webflow SEO site, a useful author bio might read: "Sofian has built and optimized over 30 Webflow sites since 2020. He's been covering Webflow SEO since before Webflow supported custom sitemaps, and most of what's on this checklist came from breaking things on his own sites first." Specific, verifiable, human.

In Webflow, the cleanest way to manage author bios is through a CMS Authors collection. Create a collection with fields for the author name, photo, bio text, and links to their profiles (LinkedIn, Twitter, personal site). Then on your blog post template, create a reference field that links to the Authors collection. This lets you display the same bio across all posts by one author without copying and pasting, and you can update it once and have it reflect everywhere.

For non-blog pages where an author isn't obvious, a brief "written by" note with a link to the author's profile page is enough. It's better than nothing and better than a generic company byline.

If you have multiple contributors, each should have their own author page that's indexed by Google. This creates an entity for each author that Google can associate with your content over time, which is how author authority gets built up in Google's understanding of a topic area.

The bio is a small element with a meaningful impact on how Google evaluates the trustworthiness of your content. Don't skip it.
